Sales Engineer/Account Manager in Novi, MI
Business development to OEMs & Tier 1 auto suppliers for aluminum components
An exciting opportunity has become available at our client company for an account manager/sales engineer/business development manager of products including aluminum engine systems and plastic components to OEMs and Tier 1 automotive companies.
This position is specifically for the aluminum product line. The company also supplies plastic injected components and systems.
The Account Manager’s responsibilities will include engineering and sales. Our client company requires Account Managers to have a BS in Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience selling similar products to OEMs and Tier 1 automotive customers. Aluminum experience is ideal, but if you have good experience selling steel products, it’s very possible that experience is transferable to our product lines.
This position reports to the Sales Manager and General Manager in Novi.
Position function & responsibilities:
  • Key responsible of relationship with customer.
  • Manufacturing concepts for Aluminum structures or of similar metals.
  • Responsible for sales of replacement and new business based on Account(s) goals defined.
  • To ensure Account growth.
  • Development of the Account on new segments (new mobility, etc).
  • Commercial Discounts responsible.
  • Commercial and technical presentations leader.
  • Responsible of Account annual sales budget.
  • Account profitability.
  • Prices responsible.
  • Vendor Tooling negotiation.
  • Company capabilities presentation.
  • Account cost workshops leader.
  • Responsible to organize tech shows with customer.
  • New projects performance co-responsible.
  • Account / Projects capital investment analysis.
  • Internal account presentations.
Required knowledge & skills:    
  • Wide knowledge on the Auto industry
  • Negotiation.
  • Manufacturing concepts.
  • Product concepts.
  • Project evaluation.
  • Business Development.
  • Knowledge in Aluminum HPDC is a plus.
Education:                         Must have BS in Engineering.
Experience:                       5+ years’ experience selling to OEM/Tier 1.
Language:                          English, Spanish is a plus.
Travel:                                Availability to travel several times throughout the year (10 to 20% travel).
Salary:                                $105K to $125K base plus bonus, can go higher based on experience/fit. Company car, health insurance, dental & vision, 401 K.
