Productivity Specialist – Industrial Gas – Chicago/NW Indiana
Our client, a Fortune 300 global manufacturer that produces, sells and distributes atmospheric gases is seeking a Productivity Specialist for their Central Region based out of Chicago suburban or Northwest Indiana facility.  This highly visible individual contributor role reports into Central Region Productivity Manager and will be responsible for leading a portfolio of 8 - 10 active medium to large Lean Six Sigma projects of varying complexity. Will provide support to plants in IL, IN, MI and MN.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and expected to function at a high level with limited supervision.  They will be responsible for the leadership of black belt projects and oversight of green and gray belt projects which are broad in nature, often across multiple sites.  This position will interface extensively with cross-functional teams at various levels that will include engineers, plant managers and directors.  Will train and coach junior level productivity professionals and green/gray belts on large/complex projects and lead project teams.
They will also demonstrate in-depth knowledge of productivity methodology and processes and act as a resource for the application of advanced productivity tools and discipline. Utilize learnings and system interdependencies to improve plant KPIs, identify cost reduction/capital project opportunities, and increase plant profitability.
  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably Chemical or Mechanical engineering).
  • 5-10 years chemical manufacturing or air separation project management experience.
  • Six sigma certification – minimum green belt training, black belt preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to influence required.
  • Experience in applying statistical principles preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight at least 25% - 35%.
