MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEERS

Duties:
The Manufacturing Engineer maintains complete and accurate records of assigned project activities to establish or improve molding processes.
Coordinate/direct product engineering projects for injection molded medical device products.
Participates as a team member on assigned projects using established APQP Project Management tools. Advises Management of any cost related issues for assigned projects.
Generates and maintains documentation for all internal processes, inspection criteria, Bill of Materials and other manufacturing and quality records.
Conceptualizes and develops lean manufacturing processes for new and existing business opportunities, which may include new and/or modified plant equipment and process needs.
Operates within the manufacturing unit to support production on injection molding of LSR materials, tooling and processes, assembly and packaging processes, as well as troubleshooting production issues.
Interfaces with customers and suppliers on project matters, mold and fixture design, process capability studies, product quality issues, and executes on automation related projects.
Aids with short- and long-term planning for capital expenditures relating to future production requirements; leads projects involving new capital.
Maintain a vigilance to identify new potential technologies for the company.
Identifies and initiates projects to improve productivity and reduce scrap/reject rates through automation, effective training of production personnel and process enhancements
Conduct internal audits. Help maintaining the Quality System to ISO-13485 standards.
Requirements:
BS Engineering, preferably plastics or mechanical engineering.
Minimum 3 years experience working as a process or tooling engineer.
Experience with molded medical products-injection, transfer or compression.
Experience troubleshooting processes for material, equipment or operator issues.
Experience in injection molding of liquid silicone rubber (LSR/LIM) and related mold design.
Experience with automation and assembly machinery
Experience with Scientific Injection Molding Principles
Familiarity with ISO-13485 and FDA CFR 21 regulations.
Experience using SolidWorks is a plus
