Mohawk seeks a talented Manager for their Engineering Services group in Dalton, GA. Responsibilities include providing support and assistance to the manufacturing process, developing and implementing plans for major capital improvements and maintenance projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide valuable project management for multi-disciplinary engineering functions in the areas of operating budgets, measurement and control of project performance against goals regarding capacity, efficiency, quality and safety. Other duties include ensuing compliance with codes, standards and regulations for all regulating authorities around steam, natural gas, potable water, liquid propane, chilled water and compressed air systems and more.
This role requires strong cost analysis skills and constant monitoring of budget and cost for all projects, cost reduction efforts and total production costs. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience will give the selected candidate the ability to use sound engineering judgment, creative thinking and problem solving. Supervisory experience is a must to lead a team of diverse, dynamic individuals in projects, new initiatives and cost savings throughout all process. Six Sigma experience is strongly preferred as Mohawk is initializing many Six Sigma and Lean initiatives throughout all manufacturing.
