Job Description for
Molding Process Engineering

This position reports directly to the Injection Process Engineering Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below. Starting salary in the $55-65K range plus benefits. Limited relocation package available the plant will assist in getting selected candidate settled in the area. Preference for local or Georgians

General Job Duties:

To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the departments established procedures and work instructions.

Specific Job Duties:

Implement and maintain a stable and repeatable process utilizing Statistical analysis tools and DOEs
Assist in the development of tools and other activities consistent with departmental expectations.
Develop and install secondary equipment in conjunction with APQP engineering and maintenance.
Work with raw material suppliers for cost reduction and development of new products.
Lead cycle time reduction in conjunction with Molding APQP for cell layout.
Ensuring that the latest models, charts, aids, and labor standards are available.
Continually monitor and troubleshoot all processes related to injection molding and RIM.
Develop and implement PFMEAs, CI, Control plan and work instruction in the molding department.
Maintain a high departmental standard for housekeeping in the Injection molding and RIM area.
Ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
Maintain QS 9000/TS16949 procedures as they relate to process requirements and documentation thereof.
Perform other duties as directed.



Education:

Bachelors is preferred. Minimum of an Associates Degree in a technical field of study required. Six years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered. Course work relating to injection molding an asset.

Skills and Experience:

Six years minimum injection molding experience preferred. Large tonnage preferred.
Must have experience processing plastics and setting tools.
Knowledge of automation systems and controls a must.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking for up to eight (8) hours a day, the ability to perform work while sitting for up to eight (8) hours a day and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds on an infrequent basis. Good vision at a close distance is required. Must be capable of performing repetitive motion at, above and below shoulder height for up to six (6) hours a day. You will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with business operations. Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and business operations.
