Leading $80MM manufacturer with two manufacturing plants in Georgia looking to hire an EHS Manager.
Major Responsibilities: Leadership position responsible for promotion & integration of employee environmental, health and safety processes. As part of the Plant Leadership Team, active participation in setting plant goals & metrics for safety, health & environmental and input for accomplishment is expected based on Plant objectives. Lead Safety Steering Committee and Safety Subcommittees as safety policies, procedures & processes are developed & implemented throughout the organization. Promote a high-energy, positive atmosphere for safety and health for all employees, visitors & contractors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the plant safety process with overall responsibilities for safety, health & environmental issues, to ensure objectives are met. Maintain safety data and analysis and provide key trend information to operations. Continue development & maintenance of the plant Safety process, including the Steering Committee, Safety Sub-committees, and other activities promoting a safe place to work. Accurate and timely safety records in accordance to Corporate, OSHA, EPA and other regulatory requirements. Insure investigations into all reported incidents are done by the appropriate people, on a timely basis, and appropriate corrective action taken. Insure overall compliance policies, procedures, & activities are in place, people trained, and appropriate auditing activities in place. Work with Operation Leadership & Supervision to integrate safety into daily work procedures
Key Competencies: Bachelors degree in safety, engineering, or related field required. Associate Degree acceptable with equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in developing and implementing safety & environmental programs, procedures & processes required. Must possess solid working knowledge of OSHA & EPA requirements in a medium to large production environment. Must be proactive with a preventive and innovative approach to improve processes and solve problems. Excellent verbal presentations and written communication skills required. Ability to take initiative in a team environment.
